Jay-Z is doing it big for the launch of Brooklyn's Barclays Center this fall. Hov has added another three shows to his five performance dates already announced, now bringing the grand total to 8.
Jigga will now rock out October 1, 5 and 6, as well as his previously announced dates: September 28-30 and October 3-4. Roc Nation made the announcement Thursday (July 13), bringing the total to a whopping eight nights.
The Barclays will house the former New Jersey Nets, who will make their debut as the Brooklyn Nets this fall at the start of the 2013-14 NBA season, but the new sports and entertainment venue is also gearing up to host concerts by Justin Bieber, Barbra Streisand and Neil Young in the coming year. There's no telling what Jay has planned for any of the five dates, but conventional wisdom tells you that he will make his homecoming more than memorable. Jay started out as an underground rapper in the borough's Marcy Projects back in the 1980s and once lived in the area's 560 State Street. He has since gone on to become one of music's biggest draws, releasing revered albums such as 1996's Reasonable Doubt, 2001's The Blueprint and last year's Watch the Throne with Kanye West.

In an effort to accommodate fans who may not be able to afford the usual concert-going experience, Hov will be pricing more than 7,000 tickets under $30, for each of the five shows. "I'm going to open the building with a concert — or a couple of concerts, actually," Jay-Z told Fox's "Good Day New York" last September, though he never confirmed the number of shows. "It's going to be more than about basketball; it's an entertainment arena."
